ABOUT THE CELL
Knowledge is power and has been a significant player in the growth and development of the society. Learning and acquiring knowledge is a continuous process and this is possible with an active collaboration between people, educational institutions and industry. Social responsibility, sensitization of students and staff is the key agenda behind all our social initiatives as we are committed to being a socially responsible educational institute. At every level we need to understand and analyse what we learn and its relevance to our future. In our college we have included this process through various activities and channels and attained positive results.The Institutional Social Responsibility & Extension Activities Cell (ISREAC)/ (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell) is of the important initiatives of St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur for students under the guidance of the management of our college. Through ISREAC/UBA we wish to take forward the concept of being sensitive to the needs of the society to the various departments of our college. We as an institution believe that our role as an educator goes beyond by simply imparting knowledge and skills to the students. As active agents of social change, we aim to undertake the challenge of creating socially responsible global citizens. Students enter college at a crucial juncture of their life wherein they embark upon a journey of self-discovery and lifelong learning and this cell ensures a holistic development of a student through community service. The endeavour of ISREAC/UBA would be to make a difference which can in future bring about a greater change in the society.The ISREAC/UBA will provide a platform for our students to explore and pursue their passion through which students can positively impact the society that we live in. The focus will be to enable the students to understand that the contribution of the community is far greater in their lives than their own contribution to the community. In the process, students have the opportunity to discover their individuality, create their own identity, yet remain humble and become selfless. The students are exposed to have first-hand problems and challenges faced by the society. They are sensitized towards these problems so that they will become responsible citizens and serve the society. The emotional, intellectual and social faculties of the learners are developed through these extension activities.
Purpose of Institutional Social Responsibility & Extension Activities Cell (ISREAC)/ (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell)
The purpose and objectives of Institutional Social Responsibility & Extension Activities Cell (ISREAC)/ (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell) are as follows:
- To inculcate social awareness, values and environmentally responsible behaviour amongst students.
- To nurture students as mature and rational citizens with moral, ethical and social values.
- To provide service to the society through activities and discharge their obligations towards the society.
- To organize development activities (events or workshops) in collaboration with various stakeholders for the upliftment of society throughout the academic year.
- To create awareness among students about codes of professional practice, social commitment and life-long learning.
- To inculcate a sense of social concern among students.
Scope of Institutional Social Responsibility & Extension Activities Cell (ISREAC)/ (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell)
- Help students to accept new challenges and new roles so that they learn to work collaboratively and are able to become leaders in their own way
- Make them aware of the community we belong to and the responsibility and commitments associated with it for the betterment of our society
- Make them balanced individuals who enjoy and find significance in a range of activities involving physical, intellectual, spiritual, creative and emotional experiences
- Increase the impact and cooperation of the college with the society, the industry, the public bodies and to contribute in a meaningful way towards bringing about to tackle societal challenges
- Increase the impact of college research and publication on the social and cultural life
- Promote and align college participation in policy-making and funding
Functions of Institutional Social Responsibility & Extension Activities Cell (ISREAC)/ (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell)
- To organize training/awareness programs, social projects in association with social organizations, NGOs, clubs and other units of the college.
- To undertake activities and schemes for village development.
- To plan and execute projects for Divyangjan.
- To visit and take membership of different NGOs to increase outreach.
- To arrange seminars/lectures by social workers for our faculty and students.
- To provide guidance and counselling regarding CSR activities.
- To create awareness and sensitise students and staff regarding the needs of the local community, society and the environment.
- To keep track of government policies regarding social responsibilities of the College.
- To maintain proper monthly and annual records of the number of activities conducted under ISREAC/UBA month-wise and year wise.
- To provide information of different wings related to government schemes like Beti Bacho Beto Padao Yojna, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Hunar se Rojgar, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Environmental Protection Schemes, Senior Citizens Welfare Program etc. so that every club will focus and contribute to the fullest.
