About the SAP Committee

The Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) stands as a milestone initiative aimed at integrating cleanliness and sustainability principles comprehensively across all sectors of the Government. This ambitious effort is driven by the goal of realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s visionary dream of a Swachh Bharat, emphasizing a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable nation.

Recognizing the importance of this national agenda, St. Xavier’s College Jaipur took proactive steps and established the Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) Committee in 2021. The SAP Committee, a dedicated body established within the college under the Sustainable Development Cell (SDC), plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing various Swachhta-related endeavors.

Our Units

The committee strategically addresses key aspects of cleanliness, sustainability, and environmental responsibility through five distinct units:

Vision

To develop institution through eco-conscious practices, responsible resource management, and green innovation while cultivating a generation of visionary youth dedicated to fostering self-reliance, promoting inclusive growth, and advancing ecological balance. This vision is closely aligned with the national mission of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the global objectives outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mission

  • Enable Green Campus and Smart Resource Management through green policies for waste segregation, water and energy conservation, and biodiversity protection with biannual audits.
  • Institutionalize Monitoring and Documentation through digital logbooks, biannual sustainability audits, and annual sustainability reports aligned with NAAC, NIRF, and SDG indicators.
  • Provide educational opportunities through awareness campaigns and workshops, fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and responsible citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute sustainability initiatives within their respective units, aligning with the institution’s overall sustainability goals.
  • Track the progress of ongoing projects, evaluate their impact, and prepare regular reports on activities and outcomes for the SDC.
  • Conduct 6-monthly audits to assess the progress of sustainable development activities, identify challenges, and ensure alignment with sustainability goals.
  • Based on audit results, make necessary adjustments and improvements to ongoing initiatives to enhance their effectiveness.
