Knowledge Transfer on Indian Knowledge System

The Dept. of Science of St. Xavier’College Jaipur in collaboration with UBA cell took an initiative of knowledge transfer program on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) on 29.6.2024. The name of the program was Knowledge Transfer On Indian Knowledge System. The aim of this program was to conduct a hands on training on organic agriculture by preparing Jeevamrit and to gather knowledge on Ayush Udyan (Herbal garden). The maintenance staffs of the college and local villagers (farmers) participated in this hands on training workshop.   Fr. Principal inaugurated the program with his welcome speech.  Dr. Anik Sarkar, Assistant Professor in Botany, Department of science explained the value of medicinal plants of the campus to the participants in the garden. They also learned how to identify common medicinal plants. The participants also received one manual of herbal plants of college in local language.

Then, the hands on training on jeevamrit preparation started. Participants prepared jeevamrit by their own hands under proper guidance. A farmer who learned organic agriculture methodologies earlier from college initiative, told about the importance of application in his own field. Finally, the participants promised here to transfer the knowledge in nearby communities.
