The Department of Economics, St. Xavier’s College Jaipur organized the Industrial visit to the
Bhamashah State Data Center and Bhamashah Technohub, India’s biggest government-owned,
operated, controlled and managed data center, in Jhalana, Jaipur, on 5th April 2024. A group of
21 students were accompanied by the faculty members of the Economics Department consisting
of Dr. Poorvi Medatwal, Head Department of Economics; Dr. Sunita Choudhary and Ms.
Aneesha Jain.
It was a great experience for the students to witness innovative startups. Upon arrival at 10:00
am, the students were escorted to a discussion room wherein Mr Rakesh Rao, Mentor and
Consultant at Istart Rajasthan (Start Up Mission GoR Under DoIT&C) with Grant Thornton
India LLP., the resource person engaged the students in conversations about the essence and
aspects of start-up industry, emphasizing the requisite attitude aspiring people should carry to
be successful in establishing a Startup. It was inspiring to know that the incubation center has
developed some of the prospering start-ups of the country.
After a healthy discussion, the students proceeded to explore all the wonderful displays of
Digisthan, consisting of an Interactive Book, Sensor technology, and various others. There were
special VR technologies like – experience vertigo, air glider, and many more. The main
attraction of the visit was the Robotic display, the Robots, were engineered intricately, and
showed their ability to play and dance.
All in all, the day proved to break the routine monotony and stimulated among students
practical learning over textbooks.
