On 2 October 2023, St Xavier’s College Jaipur commemorated the birth anniversary of two formidable national leaders who transformed the world’s understanding of Non-Violence, peace and Universal Brotherhood- Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The event was organised with the joint efforts of SAP, UBA, AICUF, NSS units of the college. The event was witnessed by a diverse gathering, as a manifestation of Gandhiji’s ideologies of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, tolerance and non-violent harmony. Representatives from Nayi Bhor Sanstha, a transgender community were a part of the gathering, along with children from Jeevandaan Charitable Society. Additionally, students from the two village schools, adopted under the UBA scheme, were a part of the celebrations. The values of inclusivity and acceptance were expounded, and the event overall was a commendable success.
