Objective

To provide clear guidelines for the segregation, collection, handling, storage, treatment, and disposal of various types of waste generated on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinator & Unit In-charge: Lead the planning, implementation and monitoring of all waste management activities on campus
  • Students & Faculty: Assist in implementing plans, oversee segregation and disposal practices, visit waste disposal site at least twice a week
  • Office Staff: Monitor daily waste segregation practices, maintain data entry records
  • Maintenance Staff: Ensure proper segregation at source, maintain cleanliness around collection areas, transport waste to designated bins, report irregularities

Collection and Transportation

  • Daily collection by Maintenance staff
  • Trolleys and bins used for transport to designated waste management site
  • E-waste and hazardous waste stored in locked storage until disposal by authorized vendors

  • Annual audit by internal auditors
