Library at a Glance

  • Arrupe Central Library is a state -of –art library, well equipped with modern infrastructure, ensuring inclusivity.
  • The library professionals and other team members at SXCJ Library are well qualified and well trained, with rich experience to provide optimum services and facilities to the users at all times.
  • The carpet area of the college Library is 5868.49 sq.ft (basement 3289.72 sq.ft and ground floor 2578.77 sq.ft.) and has two floors, the basement is the reading room and the ground floor is the stack room with separate reference section.
  • The library is fully automated with KOHA-integrated Library Management Software version 23.05.04 and integrated with RFID technology.
  • The library catalogue is web-enabled and can be accessed through sxcjpr.edu.in
  • Books are classified and arranged according to DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification).
  • Each shelf has a shelf list, which indicates rack number, shelf number, class number and subjects concerned.
  • The Library uses MARC 21 format for bibliographic data capture and AACR-2 to catalogue the library books with Open Access System.
  • It is  well-established e-learning resource Centre with LAN-and the best internet bandwidth connectivity.
  • The library also offers a book bank facility.
  • The library has a membership for accessing consortium e-resources from N-LIST & DELNET.
  • Access to JSTOR is provided through N-LIST (INFLIBNET).
  • University question papers of the previous years are available through DSpace software as well as hard copies of question papers are also available in the library.
  • It has RFID Self –service kiosk for issue/return/renewal students and separate RFID Staff station for issue/return for faculty members.
  • The Anti- Theft Security Gate ensures no books re taken out of the library without due process.
  • The computerized IN-OUT system at the library entrance can be used using both biometric and ID Card.
  • Round-the-clock surveillance is made through the CCTVs
  • Divyangjan Device for visually impaired students, Ramp and Sensor Gate for Divyangjan ensures easy accessibility.
  • The library provides readers with the latest information making the library more inclusive of reading resources through new arrivals.
  • There is separate Periodical Section for all journals and magazines.
