Faunal Diversity Study by Department of Science

Located next to the peaceful Nevta Dam, Jaipur, Rajasthan St. Xavier’s College coexists peacefully with the environment, promoting a calm and healthy ecosystem on campus. Acknowledging the importance of its unique setting, the Department of Science has conducted An Avian Diversity study to determine the diversity of birds that visits the campus and its environs. So far, the study has unveiled the presence of 30 distinct faunal diversity gracing our campus with their vibrant presence. This revelation underscores the richness of biodiversity that thrives in our midst, indicative of the favourable ecological conditions and environmental health prevailing in our immediate surroundings. The abundance of food sources, favourable climatic conditions, and the provision of shelter or temporary resting spots further accentuate the campus’s allure for avian inhabitants. St. Xavier’ s College takes pride in being a sanctuary for these winged visitors, providing them with a nurturing habitat where they can flourish and thrive. This avian diversity study not only serves to document the wealth of birdlife but also underscores the importance of preserving and protecting our natural habitats. It highlights the interconnectedness between humans and the environment, urging us to be mindful stewards of the delicate ecosystems that sustain life in all its forms.
